How do I sign in?
Music League offers three ways to sign in. You can use whichever is most convenient for you:
- Email and password — Create an account with your email address and a password you choose.
- Log in with Spotify — Sign in using your Spotify account. If you use this method, your Spotify music service is connected automatically in the same step and your Music League account will use the same email address as your Spotify account.
- Log in with Apple — Sign in using 'Sign in with Apple'. This only signs you in — Apple Music access is separate (see below).
You'll find these options on the sign-in screen, with "Forgot password?" available for password recovery. (Sign in with Apple appears on devices where Apple offers it.)
Do I still need to connect a music service?
Yes. Signing in tells us who you are, but Music League also needs to use your music service — Spotify or Apple Music — so it can search for songs, play music, and build the round playlists you'll vote on.
- Logged in with Spotify? Your Spotify service is connected in the same step — you're done.
- Logged in with email and password, or with Apple? You'll be taken to a screen to connect a music service right after. If you're connecting Apple Music, you'll approve Apple Music access once more there, since Apple treats it as a separate permission.
You can't join or create a league until a music service is connected.
Will I be asked to accept anything when I sign in?
Yes. Before you reach Music League, one short screen asks you to confirm you're 16 or older and to accept our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. You'll see it again only if we update those documents. If you choose Not now, you're signed out and your account and leagues are kept exactly as they are — sign back in whenever you're ready.
I signed up with one method but want to use the other. Will I lose my account?
No. If you sign in with a different method using the same email address, your accounts are linked automatically. For example, if you signed up with email and password and later tap "Log in with Spotify" using the same email, you'll be logged into your existing account — not a new one.
The email Music League uses is whatever's on the account you signed up with — for Spotify sign-ins, that's the email on your Spotify profile; for Apple sign-ins, it's the email Apple shares with us.
I tried "Log in with Spotify" and got an error. Why?
- If your Music League account email isn't the same as your Spotify account email, you will not be able to log in with Spotify, but you can still use your Spotify account to play.
- If your Spotify account doesn't have an email address on file, Music League can't create or sign you in to an account using "Log in with Spotify" because every Music League account is tied to an email address.
This usually happens with older Spotify accounts that were created before Spotify required an email, or accounts created through certain partner sign-ups.
There is one way to fix it:
Add an email to your Spotify account. Go to spotify.com/account/profile, add and verify an email address, then come back and try "Log in with Spotify" again.
And one way to avoid it:
Sign up with email and password instead. Create your Music League account on the sign-up screen using any email you control, then connect your music service from the screen that follows. You'll end up with the same result — a Music League account with a music service connected, but "Log in with Spotify" still won't work.
